Welcome to Blogmas Day 19!
So, you may have noticed I kind of went off the radar the past few days (since day 14!). Basically, I got that awful sickness bug that’s been doing the rounds and obviously it was timed perfectly for when I ran out of all of my scheduled posts, and I was left with drafts full of bullet-pointed posts with no images… just my luck. Although I’m literally devastated I’ve missed out on 4 days of posts I’m not going to give up that easy so I’m back as if nothing’s happened and here are my new years resolutions for 2018! ❤
Let’s get the cliche one out the way first, ey! Oh and with this I mean water/juice… not wine, unfortunately. I say this every year, and as with a lot of ‘resolutions’ they kind of fizzle out mid-Feb (if they get that far). But this year I did do a little better than normal, I definitely became more aware of my fluid intake and made much more of a conscious effort to be drinking, but I know I’m definitely still not drinking as much as recommended so that’s my first goal for the new year!
📱 Be a better text-replyer📱
This is something that an embarrassing amount of my friends have suggested because I am shocking at replying to texts. It’s not that I’m being rude, I see the message, acknowledge it, reply in my head, lock my phone and then about 6 or 7 hours later realise I never actually did reply (a text message with a few angry emoji’s, question marks, or helloooo’s often help me to remember). So 2018 is going to be the year I see a text and reply as I see it…not just in my head.
🍏 Diet consistency🍏
I’ve been calorie-counting for as long as I can remember, probably since I was about 16 (with a bit of Slimming World in between) and it’s what works for me, I don’t see calorie-counting as a diet, it’s just something that allows me to be aware of what I’m putting in to my body and gives me control in knowing the amount of calories/carbs etc I want to have at certain times of the day, for example, if I was going to the gym to train my legs I might have something more carby or high calorie for breakfast than usual, etc. I find that counting my calories using My Fitness Pal is super easy and stress-free and allows room for treats and basically anything I want… in moderation. That’s where I sometimes lack, the word moderation isn’t really in my vocabulary once the weekend hits. I’m as good as gold 5 days a week, and pretty bad 2 days, which obviously is going to hinder any progress I want to make. I want to limit my bad day to one day a week in order to be a little more consistent and hopefully see a liiiiiittle more progress in 2018!
🏃♀️Up my cardio🏃♀️
Since becoming more interested in weights/machines this year my cardio has slipped slightly, although I do still do cardio at the gym, aswell as aiming for my 10,000 steps every day, I don’t do it as much as I’d like to, and that’s something I want to change next year!
💆🏼♀️Less pressure on my blog💆🏼♀️
In the new year things are going to change slightly in my life, meaning I’ll have less time to be writing blog posts. Although I will of course keep up with my blog, I want to put less pressure on uploading, meaning that if I want to post once one week, and three times the next week then skip a week, then four times the next week… it’s O K. Blogging is a hobby not a job, so I want to stop putting pressure on it and just write because I love it, not because I feel like I have to.
🌍Step out of my comfort zone more🌍
2017 for me has definitely been the year of stepping out of my comfort zone, I’ve done some things that a year ago I’d have never even dreamed of doing and I want this to continue in 2018. I recently saw a quote “life begins at the end of your comfort zone” and it really resonated with me!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, it feels good to be writing again and Blogmas will be continuing tomorrow!
